Originally recorded for "Lucas White" in 2012

Thoughts upon a band's deluded fanbase thinking that their comatose bass player will one day wake up despite the documented damage he's gained from his car accident

lyrics

I let it slip away
lying in my bed, bars keep company
no need for my fingers
no need whatsoever
sleeping since a November day
last thing I saw:
bright lights in my eyes
and I swam in the chaos

down to the river I go
let myself melt into the crevice
no need for my body
no need for anything
and so I meld with the still waters
become one with the world
and finally let myself go
before I make a fool of myself

it's very beautiful what you see
on the other side of consciousness
everything's eternal bliss
much like heaven for the populace
but sometimes it'll all go sour
and I CAN'T SCREAM MYSELF AWAY
IT FEELS LIKE FOREVER
IT NEVER ENDS

down to the river I go
try to glue myself together
but it never works
I'll never be awake
and so I melt with the water
raging as if it wants to enslave me
nobody gets that I'll never be back
because I AM UNABLE TO
