It was something she compared me to so I went down the rabbit hole to find out who she drew her sword and screamed at us all with each passing day, the deeper she would fall I found myself wantin' to play the villain so as I begun my plan I formulated a thousand different plans to keep her locked within but when I tried it out, she had me excavated I saw it all as another silly game through it all, I wasn't all against the grain Jump aboard the Orange Blossom Special ride the rails and say, "oh, what the hell" speedin' down to your ever-loomin' doom all you know is that it's comin' real soon Locked between the floor and the surface weighted down by chains meant to bind I drove her mad until she was left broken and I took out my stupid little sign I found myself shakin' at my actions I had to kept the vicious cycle alive it's okay - we're in different positions I don't know how I could or should survive I saw it all as another silly game through it all, I wasn't all against the grain Jump aboard the Orange Blossom Special ride the rails and say, "oh, what the hell" speedin' down to your ever-loomin' doom all you know is that it's comin' real soon So I try to set her up at the compound she swears to Christ that she is clean other than the firecrackers and the the radio's sound we didn't say a word in case she'd blast us right between the eyes and everything from here to Delmarva playin' Carter Scratch until the light overcomes I'd rather be safe at home in good Dahlonega I make a run, drive off, she shoots at her final sunset Jump aboard the Orange Blossom Special ride the rails and say, "oh, what the hell" speedin' down to your ever-loomin' doom all you know is that it's comin' real soon I saw it all as another silly game through it all, I wasn't all against the grain I saw it all as another silly game through it all, I wasn't all against the fucking grain

----------ORANGE BLOSSOM SPECIAL--------------------
Welcome to the first single from Perversions, to be released in November or December.

In these troubling times, one can only hope to find some sort of stability in their life. Sometimes, this can lead to people relying on co-dependencies - and more often than not, these sorts of relationships can end up toxic. The dependence can become so ingrained within you that you can't tell which way is which - that everything you do is defined by how you see yourself in relation to this person. This is not dissimilar from how vengeance plots work - you form so much of a dependency on this person looming over you as if they're the epitome of everything wrong with this world that nobody wants to remedy or abolish that the only way out is to try to find a way to humiliate them while also dehumanizing them. That's not justice - that's just you taking on the same cynical mindset of the worst kind of people around you. But alas, it's become normalized in my corner of the Internet, where there's a lot of rightful anger towards people getting away with sex crimes and abuse and our justice system either being so ill-equipped to deal with these issues or entirely apathetic (either because they're run by similar abusers or they're trained to be as apathetic towards the issues of anybody who isn't white, cis, straight, neurotypical, male, etc. because they don't grant them the big bucks) but everybody feels like they have to play Oh Dae-su in this neverending cycle of evil. Granted one party is way more powerful than the other, but that's not how you abolish the power struggle. Not at all. But you don't do nothing and say "yeah, I'm keeping my chin up and bombarding you with peace and love" because that's not really the solution either.

I don't know what the solution is. Neither did Rebecca Sugar. And honestly, the solution is case-by-case. But it should never come down to murder. Oh hasn't a tongue. Mark David Chapman is not the hero you think he is. And it's impossible to forget Ernesto de la Cruz. But rethink entire legacies and improve upon them. Be the successor who does everything better. Be better.
