Mark's first song for the Uncharted Zone, this one was written and demoed all the way back in 1977. That's weird - I thought the drum machine stuff was 1985 and the solo-acoustic stuff was 1977. But apparently, his album - the songs that were spotlighted on the Uncharted Zone from 2007-10 - is all just part of the same demo tape from 1977. I mean, it makes sense - they all have the same level of cassette degradation and Mark's voice doesn't really vary all that much - but at the same time, the solo-acoustic stuff tends to have Mark's higher range while the drum machine stuff tends to be much lower in his range.

But I'll trust Phil Thomas Katt's word on the matter. All of these songs had to be recorded in 1977 - and if so, that's amazing. "Without You" sounds more like an '80s metal stomper - so Mark about foreshadowing it is rather amazing.
