The Swiss Army Spoon

about

The song about Philosophy Tube's cosmonaut video that I actually like. And it only took me - what, like - fifteen different rewrites, most of them about Chi Cheng from Deftones in limbo. And then I was like "you know what? Chi's dead, I'm not gonna go that route."

Hope Bernie Grundman likes 22-minute/26-minute side splits because i'm not splitting side B for this.

CW: suicide attempt

lyrics

I let it slip away
I hesitate, make a little break
I cannot think straight
the pathway contorts into black
Do I call myself insane
if I have to, Leelah calls herself too
and for sad release I wait
and I wait patiently

Down to the river I go
searchin' for the fountain
Lamneth finally shows
focus not on the screaming nor the deceit
nor the tears
Down to the river I go
bathe in the still waters
for sadness I overthrow
for peace remembered fondly
in select scenes

I let it slip away
I further hesitate, my wrist barely grazed
I breathe just for a minute
silently hoping, desperately waiting
What did I do to me
I cannot let it me, no escape that I can see
sad release until splashdown
I call to make my sound

Down to the river I go
searchin' for the fountain
Lamneth fades away
in ether it staves
off my pain
they say to launch myself
into space and time itself
sadness I reconcile
through the aisle of starscapes
and supernova wraiths
