Overnights on film sets. Sleep deprivation.

Partially inspired by experiences on the sets of Stranger Things, The Hate U Give, Venom, Burden, Zombieland 2, The Resident, Office Christmas Party, etc. Maybe a little ditty some old guy's doing - can't say yet - but more than likely not since this was written during the Zombieland 2 production.

When I was a lil' filly
and the sun was goin' down
I'd read about the movies
yellow signs when they're in town
Mom said it was so silly
to focus on the truly cutthroat
I find it all stress and smoothly
keepin' high all my hope

Now I'm in industry
I come alive at the dead of night
the director is on a timeframe
we have to do it right
fight in an empty city
everybody's bundled up
schedule's all to blame
I cannot get enough

that'll we'll all see the end of day

And thus I'm flooded under the lights
the orange glow at my lock-up delight
sometimes extra, sometimes helper
I make the effort through the orange sulfur

Night time we fell alive
night time we shoot nonstop
get those scenes in the can
for sleep we knowingly wrought
signs up at the dead of night
crafty is our energy
our brothers through our bond
